Save the Date: April 3rd

On Monday, April 3rd at 7pm the HSA is sponsoring a Cyberbullying Program in the All Purpose Room. This program is presented by Scott Driscoll, a renowned law enforcement officer, who has worked with the FBI on internet investigations. This is a great opportunity to discuss and understand the increasingly difficult (and sometimes scary) world that many of our children have access to, probably more then we are often aware. This event is open to the public, so you do not have to be a currently enrolled family to be able to attend. We invite you to bring a friend along to learn what more we can do to ensure our child are being safe, smart, and responsible online.

The Spell-a-Thon pledge sheets are due back to school by TODAY!

Please submit your donation(s) for the classroom Duck Race Baskets. The Room Parents are attempting to collect the items or donations now because the State of Connecticut requires the financial value of the basket to be submitted many months in advance of the race itself.  These baskets make up a large portion of the prize list, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation!

If you are interested in purchasing the SMSM Yearbook, which all children will be photographed in,  $23 is due March 23rd. This is a wonderful way to document your child's school year and a fun way to look back on their experiences, years from now!

It's Butter Braid Time!

The Butter Braid Fundraiser is underway, and ends March 24th. The Butter Braids will be delivered on April 7th after 3PM, in time for Easter.

Friday: Pizza and Shamrocks!

Get your orders in by Wednesday for the Pizza Sale that will benefit the SMSM Drama Club. All proceeds go to help offset the cost of costumes and set design, so please support the Dramatics while taking the morning off from packing lunches!

Friday is also a Free Green Change of Pace, so let's celebrate St. Patrick's Day in style!

Annual Spell-a-thon

The H.S.A. is sponsoring our annual Spell-a-thon. It is a 100% profit fundraiser. It is truly educational and a lot of F-U-N!

Each student is given a list of grade level words to spell. Kindergarteners will have five words to spell and students in grades 1-8 will have to spell 20 words.

Every student obtains sponsors who pledge 25 cents or more for each correctly spelled word. Remember all pledge money you return to school is subtracted from your assessment.

PLEDGE SHEETS MUST BE RETURNED to your child’s teacher by MARCH 16.

After verifying the number of correctly spelled words, the teacher will return the pledge sheet to the student so he/she can collect the donations pledged.

ALL DONATIONS ARE DUE: March 31.

The student in each class returning the most pledge money by the due date of March 31 will receive $10.00 cash prize. Also, the class with the highest amount of donations will receive a pizza party courtesy of the HSA, along with a free Change of Pace day!
