Thanks to all of our friends and families who came out for Trunk or Treat this past Saturday!

We had some amazing Trunkers this year and everyone was raving over the Bootique, Puking Pumpkins, the Wizard of Oz, and the Inflated Halloween Spectacular trunks. Congratulations to Ashley Riccelli and her SMSM Graveyard trunk that took home the grand prize this year- well done! A sincere thanks to ALL of the Trunkers who took time away from shopping for their water and batteries to celebrate with us!

We saw some very cute pirates, kittens, geishas, fairies, superheroes, cowboys, and athletes out last night and they cleaned us out of candy within 30 minutes!  Thank you for all of your candy donations, the children were thrilled. Congratulations to Evan in Kindergarten and Gabriella in 5th grade for winning the Best Costume contest- they each received a basket full of chips and books courtesy of Lay’s chips and Scholastic Books. They will have snacks and reading to keep them busy during the storm!

I’d like to thank all of the volunteers who helped in planning and orchestrating Trunk or Treat. Many new families volunteered without knowing what to expect and that is commendable and appreciated.  Thank you to Audrey and Bruce Hescock for helping with whatever needed to be done before, during, and after Trunk or Treat, Autumn Caraglio, Lina Gallagher, Michelle Santiago, and Robin Scarlata for serving with a smile despite working in the hot kitchen, Bonnie Weiler for procuring the cookies from Tidmarsh Bakery and for taking the beautiful pictures and Dee Re for being her photographer’s assistant (and for lending out her husband to run the pumpkin plate painting station!), Jocelyn Kolanovic for making the delicious chili and organizing the trunkers, Penelope Wagner for donating the pumpkin decorating supplies, Mark Adams for running the ring toss game, Joanna Adams and Zulma Davila for jumping in to help with the very busy pumpkin decorating station, Barbara Sobolisky, Melissa Lawruszko, and Candy Lebel for donating all of the paper goods, Cheryl Burke for running the popular chocolate craft, coordinating with the pre-planning and donating ALL of those cider donuts (I’m sure many of us were indulging in them this morning with our coffee!), and Tony Maraucci and the other members of the Father’s Club who organized to help with the clean up. Phew!!

Trunk or Treat could not have run as smoothly without all of your involvement…THANK YOU!

Now….let’s get ready for the Festival of Trees!
