End of Year Message

Dear St. Mary – St. Michael Parents,

It’s amazing how fast the year has gone by.  This year we have shared both joyous and sorrowful moments with which we have shared a smile or given comfort and support.  We are truly blessed to be part of a school community which exudes a feel more like family. 

I would like to thank all the families and faculty for an exemplary 2012-2013 school year.  This year our fundraisers and events were the most successful I have seen in the last four years.  It is because of the faculty, family and friends of St. Mary – St. Michael School that have given 110% and more of their support, volunteer time and fundraising efforts that allowed us to reach our goals.

As outgoing HSA President, I would like to gratefully thank the 2012-2013 executive board for all the support I have received throughout the year.  Mark Adams, 1^st Vice-President, was awesome at creating and presenting statistics and status updates to look for our shortcomings and explore ways to overcome the obstacles in our way of success.  Charlene Shandrowski, 2^nd Vice – President, was great in keeping our assessments in check and getting out quarterly updates to families to track their balances.  Suzanne Foley, Corresponding Secretary, was a great asset to this board.  She has spent countless hours creating and maintaining the HSA Parent Blog, Facebook Page, pamphlets, correspondence and more.  Sheri Lotto, Recording Secretary, was not only the keeper of meeting minutes but also good for keeping her ears and eyes open to the what and why on topics discussed.  George Pudimat, 1^st Treasurer, kept us up to date on our finances with monthly treasurer’s reports and updates as needed.  Jen Shuart, 2^nd Treasurer, kept us in step with timely deposits as well as partnering with George to make sure accounting records were accurate.

In addition to their duties as board members each has also been involved with or chaired fundraisers/events such as Trunk or Treat, Festival of Trees, Shopping Spree, Father’s Club, Movie Night, Pancake Breakfast, Ice Cream Social, Family Dinners, Duck Race, Seymour Pumpkin Festival, Dances, and MORE!

I would like to also WELCOME the 2013-2014 incoming board members: Denise Bottone (2^nd Treasurer) and Kelly Owens (Recording Secretary).  I am confident that they will do a great job!
