Tree Planting in Memory of Beloved Teacher Roberta Anton

The fifth grade class planted a flowering cherry tree today in front of the school in memory of beloved teacher, Mrs. Roberta Anton, who passed away in May after a valiant fight against cancer.  The children presented this idea after her passing and the tree was donated by Phil Marcucio of Marcucio Garden Center on New Haven Avenue, in Derby.
After the tree planting, the children ate "pie" in memory of their math teacher who celebrated "Pi Day" each May 14th in their Math class.
